Prescription Drug Prices Rise at More than Double the Rate of Inflation

A not-for-profit dedicated to lower drug prices for Americans, the Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation (CPPI) is drawing attention to a study by the AARP which shows brand-name drug prices have been rising much faster than the rate of inflation for many years.
According to the study, price increases on brand-name drugs in the USA in 2020 alone more than doubled the rate of inflation. Earlier this year, we informed customers that drugmakers in the United States were hiking drug prices by up to 10% to start off 2021. The CPPI is now predicting there will be another round of price increases this month.
