Update on the Big Pharma Legislation Designed to Hold You Hostage to U.S. Drug Prices and Shutdown Legitimate RX Drug Importation

The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation’s (CPPI) Executive Director Jack Pfeiffer warns that, ‘[t]he state of Americans’ access to affordable medication is in jeopardy as legislation backed by Big Pharma takes aim at shutting down access to licensed international pharmacies that millions depend on for critical daily prescriptions,” in a recent press release.

NorthWestPharmacy.com has been keeping you up to date on this dystopian bill endorsed by Big Pharma, called the DRUGS Act. A draft of the DRUGS Act has been introduced into the US Senate and Congress and, if passed, it will censor and remove from the internet highly credentialed non-US online pharmacies, like NorthWestPharmacy.com. If the DRUGS Act passes in its current form, it will be a victory for Big Pharma as it will end personal drug importation for Americans and allow Big Pharma to hold Americans hostage to exorbitantly high U.S. prices. That is why they are endorsing this bill and fighting hard to get it passed.

Despite the spin from certain politicians, like Marco Rubio and Amy Klobuchar (the Senate sponsors of this terrible legislation) and Big Pharma front groups, that claim this bill is intended to target the opiod epidemic and online fentanyl sellers, this bill is in fact targeted at non-domestic pharmacies, like ours, that only provide non-narcotic and non-controlled affordable prescription drugs to Americans who have a physician’s prescription. Ironically, as we previously explained, Big Pharma front groups behind this legislation themselves receive substantial funding from the very opiod purveyors being held increasingly responsible for the devastation caused by the opiod epidemic.
